I have been absent from my blog and the other stuff in the past two months, I have been on holiday, but still working at two publications and now, mid September, teaching is starting again. But I have been painting nonetheless, maybe slowly, but still I kept going, to relax, explore, improve my technique and deepen my inquiry. While being silent in this time, I also worked at making and selecting painting for a simple local exhibition at Filosoffen, with other local artists based in Odense, under the umbrella name Zigzag. I had many doubts regarding which paintings to show, I had many but I was not sure which one would be good enough to qualify for the exhibition. My friend Sara and my husband Andrea have been good at helping me to select relevant pieces. I have focused on the theme of blooming and withering,so I focused on my floral botanical paintings. I put together my exhibition trying to explore and represent how the forms of flowers change from before blooming to in bloom to withering, showing us contorted, restless figures, reminding us of tormented zoomorphic-anthropomorphic figures. Tomorrow, Tuesday 14th of September, the vernissage will be held at 17:00, Filosoffen. The exhibition will run from Tuesday 14th to Sunday 26th of September all day, Monday closed. Thank you for stopping by Bertie :) Details on the exhibition can be found here: http://zigzagkunst.dk/ https://kulturmaskinen.com/filosoffen/udstillinger-og-arrangementer/kommende-udstillinger/
