So June is here, I am exhausted and confused :( This blog is unfortunately becoming a soap opera of my tiredness, it was not my plan at all. However, I called this post Late of Heaven as a tribute to Ursula LeGuin's novel Lathe of Heaven, which I have planned to read this coming month, but at the same time I wanted to joke about the fact that I am late about everything and that the Heaven that summer is, is coming slowly as if it was late. All together, I am exhausted and late :( Anyway I am late with my portrait projects, late with experimenting with my nature paintings and late with posting on my blog, so late I haven't posted my May painting, so here it is ;) I have always been fascinated by how a creme caramel, if adequately eaten with a spoon, can acquire the shape of a mountain landscape or of a clif. I painted this after a creme caramel I have made, while it was half eaten from the mould, the caramel sirup looking like a quite golden sea, reflecting the sun at sunset.
I wanted this to be an evocative and yet fun painting, I was in the start of my watercolor exploration. Thank you for stopping by after my long period of inactivity, All the Best Emma
